Voice of Brilliance Youth Program

At Freedom Project, we believe every young person deserves to feel seen, heard, and empowered. That’s why the Voices of Brilliance Youth Program actively nurtures leadership, creativity, and confidence in youth directly or indirectly impacted by systemic oppression, incarceration, housing instability, or community trauma.
Rather than offering just another activity, this program creates a safe and inspiring space where youth explore their voices, build resilience, and engage in collective healing.

What we offer

Weekly Saturday Gatherings

Each week, youth gather in a supportive and affirming space to participate in workshops that strengthen life skills, build communication confidence, and foster emotional resilience. These sessions create rhythm, routine, and a powerful sense of community.

Leadership & Public Speaking

Participants don’t just find their voice—they use it. Through speech practice, group facilitation, and peer-led discussions, youth gain the tools to lead with purpose and speak with power.

Creative Expression

Whether through art, writing, music, or storytelling, creative outlets are central to the program. These practices help youth explore their inner worlds, process difficult experiences, and share their truths.

Mentorship & Peer Support

Led by trusted mentors with lived experience, the program builds authentic relationships and trust. Peer-driven activities foster mutual support, allowing youth to uplift one another as they grow together.

Culturally Grounded Curriculum

Rooted in anti-oppression values and radical belonging, the curriculum affirms each young person’s culture, identity, and lived experience. Participants explore their histories, imagine their futures, and cultivate the skills to make meaningful change.
