We beat our goal! GiveBIG is a one day philanthropic event ran by the Seattle Foundation and this year our marketing committee set the goal of raising $10,000 for us in one day. We wanted to share the success of their efforts and invite anyone interested to attend our next marketing committee meeting.
From the Seattle Foundation website:
“GiveBIG 2015 raised $16.3 million, comprised of $14.3 million in online donations, $850,000 in challenge grants and $1.1 million in stretch dollars.* Compared to GiveBIG 2014, we experienced a 12% increase in funds raised and a 16% increase in total donors!”
From the Freedom Project marketing committee:
GiveBIG 2015 raised $20,160(+), comprised of individual donations totaling $10,080 from the Seattle Foundation portal and a match from an anonymous donor. The Seattle Foundation also does a stretch match which they have yet to announce so we left that amount as the (+). Compared to GiveBIG 2014, Freedom Project experienced a 45% increase in funds raised and a 51% increase in total donors. The Seattle Foundation growth for this event is 12% and 16% for the same numbers, so as an organization our growth this year was more than double the growth of the Seattle Foundation!
We could not have seen such growth without each of you sharing your stories of how this work has impacted your life – we honor and cherish each of you. Thank you for your support.
The marketing committee is looking for community members to join us in planning an upcoming musical event to benefit Freedom Project. If you have a venue we could use, food you want to donate, musicians who might want to donate a performance, or you have time to help organize the event please email the office with your ideas and details. If you liked our birthday celebration in February you will love helping create this experience with us.
Our committee meetings happen the first Monday of each month at 6pm in Queen Anne. Please contact SeattleFreedomProject@gmail.com or comment below if you are interested.
