Advanced Nonviolence Training

Washington Peace Teams will offer a two-day “Beyond the Basics” workshop, facilitated by Rosy Betz-Zall, social activist and trainer on October 17 & 18. The program is scheduled 6:30-9:30 pm on Friday evening and 10 am-5 pm on Saturday. This is an opportunity for people who already have some basic nonviolence training to increase their skills and understanding of de-escalation work for our community. The workshop will be held at Tower House, 656 Howe St., between Dexter Avenue North and Highway 99 in Seattle.

Washington Peace Teams (WPT) provide a nonviolent, impartial presence in situations with potential for conflict and creates space for people to resolve their own conflicts nonviolently. The organization promotes the use of nonviolent techniques through role modeling, teaching, and trainings. The peace teams have provided peacemaking presences at marches and rallies since the fall of 2011 and has assisted food bank users during the long wait for assistance. Peace Team members are also committed to the use of nonviolence in their personal, professional, and community lives.
